Focus on Energy

by Editorial Staff--South Jersey Biz

We know the companies highlighted in this year’s Green Issue are not alone—they’re just a sampling of those making strides in sustainability and eco-friendly business practices in South Jersey. That is why we present this Focus on Energy, showcasing even more of the latest achievements in energy innovation and savings in the business and residential marketplaces.

Bovio Heating, Plumbing, Cooling and Insulation
Bovio Heating, Plumbing, Cooling and Insulation is proud to service South Jersey’s commercial community. Bovio is the pre-eminent energy conservation expert in the state with more multi-family (apartment) Home Performance project completions in New Jersey than any other contractor. Their multi-family and residential energy efficiency expertise has earned them the 2012 EPA Century Club Award, something only 97 contractors in the nation have received. They offer high-efficiency mini-split cooling and heating systems for commercial applications such as server rooms, offices, spot cooling and tenant fit-outs. Bovio offers commercial service and maintenance contracts, energy audits, and rooftop heating and AC units to ensure peak facility efficiency. Additionally, Bovio offers spray foam insulation, weatherization, and water conserving plumbing services. In addition to energy conservation, spray foam is a great sound-reducing material in commercial applications. Brian Bovio, vice president, is the national chairman of Efficiency First, a nonprofit trade association that advocates for energy efficiency policy across the nation and in New Jersey.

The Hotel ML
The Hotel ML on Route 73 in Mount Laurel announced the completion of the installation of a solar panel project producing 473,000 watts of solar energy. The solar panel project will reduce the property’s carbon footprint by more than 335 metric tons of CO2. In an effort to further reduce carbon pollutants, the project included 4 GE DuraStation car-charging stations. The Hotel ML is the first hotel in the region to support electric cars. Conveniently located less than one mile from the New Jersey Turnpike and I-295, The Hotel ML invites other green initiative enthusiasts to spend the night or grab a meal while charging their automobile.
