Meet the next generation giving back to South Jersey with their time and talent.

Today’s workforce has no shortage of up-and-coming talent who’ve wasted no time making their mark on the local landscape for the benefit of our region and beyond—in fact, the hardest part of honoring those go-getters is narrowing down the field of folks who all deserve an enthusiastic round of applause. But it’s a task we’re always happy to take on, and we’re once again proud to showcase this year’s class of 20 movers and shakers under 40. 

Alexis Smith
Municipal and Government Attorney
Parker McCay, P.A.
Age: 30
Smith is a rising associate at Parker McCay, P.A., where she focuses her practice in municipal and government law. She understands the direct impact government has on the everyday lives of the public, and focuses on issues relating to public services, infrastructure, public safety and complex land use issues. Her passion for helping others made municipal and government work a natural fit. Additionally, Smith has assisted the firm with large private sector work throughout the state, serving as an integral piece of some of their largest cases. Smith is deeply proud of her Burlington County upbringing. As an extremely accomplished high school and college athlete, she enjoys local sports and gives back to the community by coaching young athletes on the fundamentals of her beloved field hockey as well as on the basics of working hard and becoming confident young women. To support the legal community, Smith is an active member of the Burlington County Bar Association as well as the New Jersey Bar Association.

Charles J. Dennen

Age: 39
Since graduating from Rutgers Law School in 2013 and joining Archer, Dennen has built a robust legal practice centered on products liability, toxic tort and environmental law. He proudly represents a range of sophisticated clients through all phases of litigation in complex, multi-party matters—in both state and federal courts—and provides counsel to clients in administrative and transactional matters. He particularly thrives in the courtroom, where he’s passionate about advocating on behalf of his clients. Beyond his legal work, Dennen is deeply engaged in the community and currently serves as president of the South Jersey Young Professionals Association, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting other local nonprofit and charity organizations through donations raised from social events. Dennen is also active with the Special Olympics of New Jersey and sits on the Volunteer Leadership Council of the American Cancer Society. He lives in Haddonfield with his wife, a fellow partner at Archer, and their two children. He stays busy outside the office by coaching youth soccer and Little League.

Chris Campellone

Age: 37
Campellone joined AmeriHealth in 2014 and plays a pivotal role in driving the organization’s strategic initiatives. He is responsible for supporting the company’s overall strategy through developing plans, selecting and onboarding vendors, driving new product development, and leading operational improvement projects.

Throughout his tenure, Campellone has successfully led cross-functional and complex projects, including the development of AmeriHealth’s Fixed Funding products, reentry into the Medicare Advantage market and the implementation of a new national access partner. He has been recognized with several corporate awards, including the Erin Carty Leadership award that annually recognizes an associate who best demonstrates an exceptional work ethic, possesses a collaborative spirit and maintains a positive attitude in the face of challenges.

Recognized as a DEI Influencer by ROI-NJ in 2021, Campellone is also the co-founder and co-chair of AmeriHealth’s ARG Council, showcasing its commitment to fostering inclusion and belonging within the organization. Campellone is passionate about innovation and collaboration, consistently delivering impactful solutions that advance the company’s mission and serve the needs of its members. 

Alyssa DePonte
Vice President, Membership & Marketing
Burlington County Regional Chamber of Commerce (BCRCC)
Age: 26
DePonte plays a key role in connecting businesses throughout Burlington, Camden, Gloucester, and parts of Mercer counties through BCRCC, a nonprofit membership organization that helps businesses across industries build meaningful relationships driving community and organizational growth. A proud graduate of Stockton University, DePonte holds a bachelor’s degree and remains committed to personal and professional development: She is passionate about fostering connections that create value and strengthen the local business landscape. Her approachable style and strategic mindset make her both a trusted partner to the chamber’s diverse member base and a dynamic leader in the South Jersey nonprofit and business communities. She also co-founded the Shore Miles Run Club, keeping active and supporting local businesses in her neighborhood. Before joining BCRCC, DePonte began her career in the health and fitness industry, working in marketing and as a dual-certified personal trainer and nutrition coach in NYC and Tampa Bay, an experience that shaped her approach to goal setting, communication and client engagement—skills that still serve her and the BCRCC. 

Brian Budic

Age: 36
As co-chair of the firm’s Divorce and Family Law Practice Group, Budic has extensive experience representing clients in all aspects of family law. He also heads the firm’s Workers’ Compensation Group and is actively involved in the representation of both employees and employers in the Division of Workers’ Compensation throughout the state. He currently serves as defense counsel for public entities. Budic has received an Equal Justice Medal from Legal Services New Jersey recognizing him as a Major Contributor for Pro Bono Legal Assistance, and was named among the New Leaders of the Bar by New Jersey Law Journal’s Professional Excellence project.

Amirah Hussain
Director of Government Relations
New Jersey Chamber of Commerce
Age: 28
Hussain focuses on employer issues pertaining to health care, taxation, economic development, childcare and education. She represents companies of all sizes in Trenton, where she regularly testifies on many of the state’s most important issues. As liaison to local and regional chambers of commerce, she serves as the manager of The Chamber Alliance Coalition, co-leads the New Jersey Chamber’s Young Professionals Network and sits on the New Jersey Small Employer Health Benefits Program Board. Previously, Amirah was deputy chief of staff for Assemblyman Herb Conaway, where she focused on policy research and overseeing daily office operations.

Stephen Steglik
Deputy Mayor
Mount Laurel
Age: 34
Steglik is the youngest person in Mount Laurel’s history elected to township council, serve as mayor (2021, 2023) and to serve as deputy mayor. He not only serves on the Mount Laurel Township Council but also is also the township administrator in Voorhees, where he is responsible for the day-to-day running of the township's operations, including providing effective methods in its business operations. Steglik develops, interprets and implements policies and procedures while ensuring compliance with policies, statutes and ordinances. In managing the town hall staff, his decisions directly impact the effective functioning of the township’s services.

Jarquiza Ayers
Deputy District Director
Office of Congresswoman Bonnie Watson Coleman
Age: 27
Ayers provides support to the district director by assisting with strategic planning, constituent casework, community relations, and political and government analysis—always putting people over politics. Her passion for serving the public is her purpose, reflected in her role as president of the Burlington County Young Democrats and her work with Young Democrats of America, serving as a 2023 New Jersey delegate at the national convention. Congresswoman Watson Coleman nominated Ayers to participate in the Congressional Black Caucus Institute Bootcamp, which would provide her with the necessary tools to run for office in the future. 

Stephanie Benito Vasquez

Age: 27
Benito Vasquez is dedicated to supporting student success in higher education. That passion is rooted in her own experiences, which instilled in her a desire to ensure others don't face the same challenges—a philosophy she articulates with her motto, "I've learned from my mistakes so I can teach others to sail through them." She helps students access and manage financial aid, including overseeing federal aid programs, focusing on supporting fellow first-generation students and those recovering from academic barriers. Benito Vasquez also personally and professionally serves as a mentor to Latino high school students.

Dr. Kendra Boyd
Assistant Professor of History
Rutgers University–Camden
Age: 37
Dr. Boyd specializes in African American history, and her scholarship and research focuses on Black business and economic history, urban history and migration. Her most recent book Freedom Enterprise: Black Entrepreneurship and Racial Capitalism in Detroit traces the city’s rise and fall of its historic Black business community. Dr. Boyd is also a Rutgers–Camden Africana Studies program faculty member and a scholar at the Center for Urban Research and Education (CURE). She continues her work on the Black Camden Oral History Project, which she began developing as a Public Humanities Fellow at the Mid-Atlantic Regional Center for the Humanities in 2022.

Sarah Hart

Hart is responsible for supporting the marketing needs of NITA’s partners, creating customized materials and digital campaigns for realtors throughout the region. Her expertise plays a key role as the company continues its expansion across the river in Greater Philadelphia and in Florida. Additionally, Hart manages internal communications, keeping the team connected and well-informed—two components at the core of providing high-level, dedicated service.Hart’s professional skills are complemented by an insatiable positive outlook, belief in change and drive for a prosperous future, illustrated in her support of various domestic violence organizations.

Casey Creagh
Manager of Grant Writing, Research and Donor Administration

Age: 24
Creagh is dedicated to advancing civic engagement among young professionals. In her role, she oversees strategic fundraising initiatives, manages donor relationships, and drives corporate and community engagement efforts to support critical programming. In addition to her work at Legacy, Creagh is an active board member of both the South Jersey Young Professionals Association and CONTACT of Burlington County. She is passionate about mobilizing the next generation of leaders to use their voices and talents to strengthen and uplift their communities. She believes strongly that collaboration, strategic networking, and service are key drivers of sustainable community impact.

Adam Remshifski

Age: 33
A financial-sector innovator, Remshifski is redefining marketing leadership at American Heritage Credit Union. His forward-thinking strategies changed how the organization connects with its members—leveraging data, automation and business intelligence to drive measurable results. Remshifski’s passion for enhancing financial well-being through innovation has led to record-breaking achievements, including a 9.6% marketing conversion rate and a Net Promoter Score of 85. His vision also propelled the credit union’s social media presence to a top 50 global ranking by The Financial Brand. Remshifski’s leadership philosophy centers on empowerment, collaboration and creating inclusive environments where teams and ideas thrive. 

Brianna Donahue

Age: 28
Donahue manages key relationships with federal, state and local governments, regulatory agencies, key policymakers and community stakeholders on behalf of Inspira. She also serves on the Senator Walter Rand Institute for Public Affairs advisory board, the Rowan University College of Humanities and Social Sciences employer advisory board and the board of Maria’s Women United. She co-founded the Paul Michael Donahue Memorial Foundation and is part of United Way of Gloucester County’s inaugural Lead program. Her honors include Gloucester County Chamber of Commerce Young Professional of the Year and a three-time inclusion on N.J. Assemblywoman Shavonda Sumter’s InsiderNJ Women’s Power List.

Lovepreet Buttar

Mercadien’s Nonprofit and Human Services Group
Age: 36
Buttar has extensive experience advising nonprofit organizations on a wide range of issues, and oversees audit engagements for various organizations. She heads Mercadien’s audit and assurance practice, helping to ensure the highest quality of client service. She manages firm-wide and engagement-specific quality control processes, and provides training for the staff working with various types of clients, including for-profit, nonprofit and government entities. Buttar serves on the boards of the Princeton Area Community Foundation, Chamber of Commerce Southern New Jersey, Inspira Health Network and Thomas Edison State University Foundation. She played a key role in developing Mercadien’s Diversity, Equity & Inclusion initiative.

Rbrey “R.D.” Singleton-Siu

Age: 28
Singleton-Siu is a 2019 graduate of Rowan University (summa cum laude), where his accomplishments included assisting in the creation of “The S.H.O.P.,” a campus food pantry and resource center. He earned his J.D. from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth’s School of Law. He served as a law clerk to the Hon. Irma Karaszegi Jr. in Passaic County Superior Court, criminal division. Singleton-Siu has handled a wide range of cases, including public corruption and civil rights litigation. He is currently assigned to the New Jersey Office of Policing Strategy and Innovation. A first-generation Nicaraguan American, Singleton-Siu is the first attorney in his family.  

Daniel Beck
Director, Acquisitions

Age: 38
Beck leads efforts to identify and secure new development opportunities that advance the company’s mission of providing high-quality affordable housing. With more than eight years at Michaels, he has been instrumental in expanding the organization’s housing portfolio through strategic acquisitions, financial modeling and market analysis. Committed to social impact, he supports causes related to homelessness, health care, food insecurity and environmental sustainability. He has served on the Emerging Leaders Board for The Mikva Challenge, coached Special Olympics athletes at the Evanston Speed Skating Club, and spent over a decade teaching at Tembaletu Primary School in Gugulethu, South Africa.

Amber Burruezo

Age: 36
With over 15 years of experience in crafting and executing high-impact corporate communications and public relations, Burruezo manages the company’s external communications across New Jersey, Delaware and Maryland. She is known for her expertise in media strategy, crisis communications and brand reputation management. Burruezo is a member of the United Way of Gloucester County’s Board of Directors, serving as campaign chair from 2021-2024; she also advocates for herself and others living with multiple sclerosis, serving on the board of trustees for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society’s Greater Delaware Valley Chapter and cycling annually in Bike MS: City to Shore.

Brittany Diaz

Age: 34
In addition to overseeing VIP customers’ guest experience, Diaz has worked across departments to help Hard Rock establish itself as a premiere entertainment destination. She is a member of the property’s Community Relations Committee, a volunteer group supporting both internal and external property-wide community efforts. Her wealth of experience in the nonprofit sector has helped the property support Sleep Out: Atlantic City Edition, the annual fundraiser hosted by AC’s Covenant House location, where she spent four years as a front-line advisor working with at-risk youth before joining the Donor Development Team at Covenant House Pennsylvania.

Daniel Mitchell
Operations Coordinator

Age: 36
Since 2021, Mitchell has been responsible for environmental health and safety, employee training, and leading the employee safety and ergonomics teams for their application support and chemical packaging center. Mitchell holds multiple certifications including OSHA 30, RCRA, DOT, Adult First Aid CPR and AED. He is a lifelong resident of Cherry Hill and is actively involved in the Barclay Farm Civic Association and serves on the board for South Jersey Young Professionals (SJYPA). During the holiday season, Daniel helps to collect, organize and distribute holiday gifts for the residents of St. Mary’s Nursing Home in Cherry Hill.
