Earlier this month, Virtua Health announced its new brand and new logo—this after the acquisition of the Lourdes Health System three months ago. 
 
The Jefferson Health Foundation – New Jersey is naming the new patient tower under construction at Jefferson Washington Township Hospital in honor of John Silvestri and his family, who made a $5 million gift−the largest gift in its history. The $184 million, seven-story tower will feature 90 private rooms, a same-day surgery/recovery room, a new entrance with a two-story lobby and a cafeteria with outdoor dining. It is slated for completion in summer 2021.
 
New Jersey First Lady Tammy Murphy and the New Jersey Department of Health announced a $10.5 million grant from the Health Resources and Services Administration to advance health equity and address disparities in maternal health.
 
The Organization of Nurse Leaders of New Jersey announced the award honorees for the nursing leadership awards to be presented at the annual holiday meeting and awards brunch, “Celebrating Nursing Leadership in New Jersey,” on Dec. 6. The following nurse leaders will be recognized:
 
Wendy Rosen, MSN, RNC, nurse manager, mother baby, Inspira Medical Health System, Vineland, will be awarded the Nurse Leader Award for her leadership, guidance and service to the hospital and the nursing profession.
 
Susan Politsky, PhD, RN, NE-BC, director of professional development and nursing research, Virtua Health System, will be awarded the Professional Recognition Award for her continued commitment to nursing and significant impact on the profession.
 
Regina Edwards, BSN, RN, CEN, clinical nurse and team leader emergency department, AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, will be recognized as the Aspiring Nurse Leader for demonstrating exceptional leadership, guidance and service to the hospital and to the nursing profession.
 
Dawn Mutchko, DNP, MSN, RN, APN-C, FNP-C, lead advanced practice provider and interventional cardiology nurse practitioner, AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, will receive the Excellence in Advanced Practice Nursing Leadership Award for demonstrating exceptional leadership, guidance and service to the institution and to the profession of nursing.
