The Boys & Girls Club of Atlantic City honored Kenneth J. Calemmo Jr., chief operating officer of Cooper Levenson, at the 20th Annual Let’s Get Cookin’. The signature fundraising event helps supports the organization’s mission of empowering local youth.
Capehart Scatchard has been awarded the Business Excellence Award in the Large Business category by the Burlington County Regional Chamber of Commerce. Established in 1992, the Voice of Business Awards recognizes outstanding individuals, businesses and organizations that demonstrate commitment to Burlington County and its business community.
AtlantiCare and Stockton University have partnered to establish the Stockton-AtlantiCare College of Community Health in Atlantic City and expand health care education, strengthen workforce pathways and improve access to care across South Jersey. AtlantiCare is also committing an initial $15 million to support academic programming and workforce development efforts tied to the partnership.
Presidents from Stockton University, Atlantic Cape Community College, Brookdale Community College, Camden County College and Ocean County College signed a memorandum of agreement establishing the new South Jersey Higher Education Alliance. The agreement creates a collaborative framework focused on expanding educational opportunities, strengthening transfer pathways and improving student success throughout the region.
The SJ Chamber Foundation (SJCF) and members of the Chamber of Commerce Southern New Jersey (CCSNJ) completed its most successful Day of Service to date in mid-May, mobilizing over 100 member volunteers alongside chamber staff across eight regional nonprofit organizations throughout South Jersey.
In observance of Memorial Day, South Jersey Gas and Elizabethtown Gas, two subsidiaries of South Jersey Industries, held a series of events to honor our veterans and fallen servicemen and women. And through July 9, The Veterans Engagement Team (VET), will be organizing a food drive in collaboration with the Service to the Armed Forces and American Red Cross.
American Heritage Credit Union and BIG 98.1 recently hosted their 22nd Annual Car Show and Member Appreciation Day. More than 340 cars and over 8,000 attendees came out to support the event, which raised more than $29,500 for the Kids-N-Hope Foundation.
HPE announced an expanded partnership with Rowan University to accelerate research, strengthen student training and support the university’s continued growth. Delivered in partnership with SHI International, the initiative will enhance the performance of Rowan’s technology environment to enable faster insight, more hands-on learning and a better-connected campus experience.
SJ Connects, a new regional shuttle service with operating routes throughout Atlantic, Burlington, Camden, Cape May, Cumberland, Gloucester and Salem counties, has officially launched. The service will provide residents with connections to employment centers, educational institutions, health care campuses, retail destinations, government services and NJ TRANSIT hubs throughout the region, all at no cost to riders during the pilot program.
The Inspira Health Foundation launched the public phase of its $28 million Changing Lives, Improving Communities Capital Campaign at a kick-off event at Inspira Medical Center Mullica Hill. During his remarks, Kevin Gibala, the foundation’s board chair, explained how dollars raised will help foster healthier communities in Cumberland, Gloucester and Salem counties.
The Southern New Jersey Development Council hosted its 30th Annual Construction Forecast at Stockton University, bringing together leaders from construction, development, labor, education, government, finance, infrastructure and economic development to discuss major projects and investment opportunities shaping the future of South Jersey. Presented by TD, the annual program highlighted construction trends, regional market conditions, public and private development opportunities, and key infrastructure investments across the region.
Atlantic City Mayor Marty Small Sr. was joined by city officials, project contractors and representatives from the Atlantic City Dolphins youth organization to officially break ground on a $1.33 million renovation project at Dolphin Field. Funded through New Jersey’s Green Acres Program, the project will transform the sports facility with a series improvements including the installation of new gray artificial turf, concession stand and locker room renovations, new fencing, upgraded lighting, new goal posts, new storage sheds, landscaping enhancements, and ADA accessibility improvements, including new sidewalks.
