With services like site-specific safety training, OSHA training and certifications, the Delaware Valley Safety Council (DVSC) helps clients locally and beyond by providing tools for contractors to work safely.
“As our training is reciprocal, clients can come from different parts of the country, and from chemical plants and refineries in the area where OSHA Process Safety Management (PSM) training is required for contractors working in their facilities. We provide a range of certification training to architects, insurance agents and health care workers, to name a few,” says Executive Director Agnes Wilson. “Our certification training is a requirement for many clients as a condition of employment, as well as providing opportunities for growth.”
Wilson has held her role since May, to which she brings 46 years of working in a chemical manufacturing facility, 30 of which she spent in its safety department.
“I speak to customers in their language,” she affirms. “Our skilled team understands what they want, and provide what they’re looking for when specialized training or testing through other companies is needed.”
Making safety training both accessible and a priority is paramount for instilling a respect for best practices that keep everyone safe with transferable skills.
“Our focus is on correct/compliant safety training and certifications,” says Wilson. “I’ve talked to a few of our customers, and they’ll say, ‘I never thought about this before’ or ‘I didn’t realize this issue could happen.’ It’s a really wonderful team here, and people often say they choose this facility for our willingness to help.”
