Brand consultant Monigle has named Virtua Health as one of the best health care brands in the nation for the second year in a row. Late last month, Monigle released its annual Humanizing Brand Experience report, where Virtua was ranked 40th in the country—making it the highest-ranked health system in New Jersey and second-highest ranked in both Philadelphia’s and New York’s markets. On May 28, Virtua also commemorated the 75th anniversary of its Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, unveiling plans for a $500 million renovation and expansion that include a six-story patient care pavilion named for philanthropist Marvin Samson. At almost 200,000 square feet, the addition is expected to increase the hospital’s size by 35%.

Deborah Heart and Lung Center’s Institute for Sleep Medicine recently earned program reaccreditation from the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, demonstrating its commitment to providing high-quality care for people with sleep problems. Additionally, Deborah recently celebrated the completion of The Olsen Family Patient Care Pavilion, a three-story, cutting-edge addition that significantly enhances the hospital’s patient capacity and care capabilities. The new pavilion, expected to open this month, includes 36 private inpatient suites.

On May 17, nearly 700 supporters attended the AtlantiCare Foundation’s 64th Annual Century Club Gala in Atlantic City. The yearly event raised more than $660,000 to support of education, career pathways and other key Vision 2030 initiatives, in addition to honoring a number of individuals for their community impact. The health care organization also hosted a May 28 ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the completion of two new patient care floors at its Galloway campus, where the Meadows Pavilion’s third and fourth floors now include additional 50 state-of-the-art private rooms designed to enhance patients’ safety, comfort and care experience of care.

Jefferson’s board of trustees announced on May 28 that Joseph G. Cacchione, MD, signed a five-year contract extension to continue serving as its chief executive officer, with the board’s unanimous decision reflecting its confidence in Dr. Cacchione since assuming the role in 2022. Under Dr. Cacchione’s leadership, Jefferson has grown into a $15 billion not-for-profit health system with 65,000 employees, 30+ hospitals, 700 care sites serving more than 360,000 members across New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
