
A 39,000-square-foot expansion and renovation project is underway at the Burlington County Institute of Technology’s (BCIT’s) Westampton campus, with the $14 million project on schedule for completion by the fall semester. The improvements, which aim to expand BCIT’s career and technical education programs for auto technology, heavy equipment and logistics and diesel technology, include more classroom space, a mock warehouse space for logistics training and a large diesel engine garage, and marks the Westampton school’s first significant renovations since 2004.
Additionally, the vocational school district held a Feb. 24 ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the completion of $8 million in renovations and improvements at BCIT’s Medford campus, which included major expansions and renovations to the school’s welding and HVAC shops, as well as the creation of a new video game design lab.
Five years into the Stockton Maple Project, Stockton University’s project has already collected more than 12,000 gallons of sap and cooked over 150 gallons of maple syrup, and has recently received another grant of nearly $500,000 from the United States Department of Agriculture. Those funds will primarily support improving the marketing of domestic-made maple syrup both in New Jersey and in Vermont while the university seeks to further its efforts by seeking impactful partnerships.
