 It was announced early last month that Samaritan achieved Joint Accreditation for Interprofessional Continuing Education, allowing the nonprofit to offer continuing education credits for multiple disciplines, including physicians, nurses, pharmacists and social workers. It is the first hospice to receive this accreditation, joining only 160 institutions and organizations nationwide.

Virtua Health’s three hospitals with maternity divisions—Virtua Mount Holly Hospital, Virtua Voorhees Hospital and Virtua Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Camden—are again designated as “high performing” on U.S. News & World Report’s 2025 list of Best Hospitals for Maternity Care. Additionally, the Mount Holly and Voorhees hospitals have been recently redesignated as Baby-Friendly birth facilities by Baby-Friendly USA, Inc. 

On Dec. 10, Cooper University Health Care was recognized at the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve awards ceremony, with the health care system receiving both the Pro Patria Award for the first time ever and the Seven Seals Award. Both honors recognize Cooper’s commitment to military reserve forces.

When nationwide nonprofit The Leapfrog Group released its Fall 2024 Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grades late last year, it reflected that 81% of New Jersey hospitals received either an A or B. Among those A-grade hospitals are the Inspira Medical Centers in Elmer, Mullica Hill and Vineland, Jefferson Washington Township Hospital, Virtua Marlton Hospital and Virtua Voorhees Hospital.

Inspira Health recently announced a handful of honors, with a gold-level Beacon Award for Excellence from the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses going to the Deborah F. Sager Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Inspira Medical Center Vineland while Inspira Medical Centers Mullica Hill, Vineland and Elmer received the American Heart Association’s (AHA’s) Get With The Guidelines – Stroke Gold Plus award. Additionally, its Mullica Hill and Vineland centers achieved AHA’s Target: Stroke Honor Roll and Target: Type 2 Diabetes Honor Roll designations. 

The state recently announced that, starting this month, its universal nurse home-visitation program Family Connects NJ will begin making free nurse visits available to every family with a newborn in several counties, including Gloucester.
