Virtua Health recently announced that Modern Healthcare magazine named the hospital system as one of its 2024 Diversity Leaders, which honors health care executives and organizations furthering equity and inclusion in not only their organizations but also their industries. Additionally, having received certification to perform left ventricular assist device (LVAD) surgery earlier this year, the advanced heart failure team at Virtua Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Camden recently and successfully performed the health system’s first LVAD implantation.

Cooper University Health Care was recognized with a number of honors last month. Among them was the American Heart Association’s 2024 Get With The Guidelines-Gold Plus Quality Achievement Awards for both stroke and heart-failure care, as well as four additional achievement awards. The health system was also named among the country’s Best-in-State Employers by Forbes magazine for the fourth consecutive year.

Last month, the New Jersey-based, physician-led health care organization Consensus Health was honored among the 21st annual International Business Awards winners, earning a bronze Stevie Award in the Company of the Year-Health Products & Services-Large category, as determined by more than 300 worldwide executives participating in the judging process this past summer.
 
When the U.S. News & World Report released its 2024-2025 Best Hospitals ranking earlier this summer, a number of South Jersey systems were on the list. Cooper University Health Care-Camden and Jefferson Health-Stratford, Cherry Hill and Washington Township were named among both the state’s and the Philadelphia metro region’s best hospitals, and were additionally recognized among 98 hospitals nationwide for their success in caring for patients from historically underserved communities. Deborah Heart and Lung Center was also recognized for its high performance in treating heart attacks, heart failure and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, as well as for its heart bypass surgery and transcatheter aortic valve replacement.

Rowan University, Virtua Health, Rowan College of South Jersey (RCSJ) and Cumberland County leadership recently held a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the county’s first Rowan Medicine clinical facility.
