The New Jersey Manufacturing Extension Program (NJMEP) formally announced the debut of its Mobile Training Center, a state-of-the-art RV custom-built to advance the state’s manufacturing training by bringing it directly to manufacturing operations, schools and community centers throughout New Jersey. The training lab on wheels is equipped with the latest manufacturing technologies, such as 3D printers, robotic arms and augmented reality (AR) welding equipment.

When 28 New Jersey employers were honored with the Governor’s Occupational Safety and Health Awards last month, a number of local organizations were among those recognized for proactively preventing job-related injuries and illnesses. The Borough of Pitman Public Works/Water & Sewer received a New Jersey Governor’s Award for Safety and Health Performance, while recipients of the New Jersey Governor’s Award for Safety and Health Achievement included Torcon’s Camden-based Campbell Soup projects.

Earlier this summer, both Gov. Phil Murphy and State Treasurer Elizabeth Maher Muoio praised a decision by Moody’s Investors Service to upgrade New Jersey general obligation bonds’ outlook from stable to positive.

While celebrating 75 years of service during a celebration hosted at its Voorhees administrative headquarters last month, Maryville Addiction Treatment Center announced its new name: Maryville Integrated Care.

In response to January’s legislative overhaul of New Jersey’s outdated liquor license laws, the New Jersey Economic Development Authority (NJEDA) is developing a new grant program to provide funding for small businesses that have obtained an inactive plenary retail consumption liquor license, pending the NJEDA board’s approval. One approved, the $10 million program will join the program suite offered through the Economic Recovery Act of 2020’s Main Street Recovery program.

The nonprofit organization Barrier Breakers recently received a $10,000 New Jersey Community Foundation grant, which will support the Barrier Breakers Scholars Program offering free college and law school counseling to students with a significant financial need.

For the fourth consecutive year, Forbes named NJ TRANSIT to its annual America’s Best-in-State Employers list; for the second year in a row, NJ TRANSIT ranked No. 1 in the Transportation and Logistics category. The survey identifies companies all around the world that are best-liked by their employees.

NEW ROAD Construction Management was recently awarded the construction-management contract for districtwide improvements at Haddon Township School District. The project will include improvements and upgrades to athletic spaces, renovations to support STEAM and vocational training, upgrades to the media center with classrooms and counselling support space, entrance renovations that enhance accessibility, circulation and a new security vestibule, energy-efficient and climate-control improvement projects, and improvements to elementary schools’ multi-purpose room flooring, circulation and parking.
