Gloucester Township’s council voted early last month to introduce an ordinance prohibiting paid short-term rentals that are neither hotels nor motels. The discussion of restricting rental properties comes after nuisance complaints from neighbors due to parties and other bothersome activities of renters typically using the likes of Airbnb.
On July 17, New Jersey’s Research & Monitoring Initiative started requesting proposals for research projects focused on ecologically responsible offshore wind energy development; the $4.75 million dollar grant from the NJ Department of Environmental Protection, the NJ Board of Public Utilities and the NJ Sea Grant Consortium will fund pre-construction research describing ecological conditions and expected impacts during construction.
