Gloucester Township’s council voted early last month to introduce an ordinance prohibiting paid short-term rentals that are neither hotels nor motels. On July 17, New Jersey’s Research & Monitoring Initiative started requesting proposals for research projects focused on ecologically responsible offshore wind energy development; the $4.75 million dollar grant from the NJ Department of Environmental Protection, the NJ Board of Public Utilities and the NJ Sea Grant Consortium will fund pre-construction research describing ecological conditions and expected impacts during construction.
