When Healthgrades announced its nationwide recognitions for the 2024 Outstanding Patient Experience Awards last month, two South Jersey hospitals were among the honorees: Deborah Heart and Lung Center in Browns Mills and Inspira Medical Center Elmer.

Virtua Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital recently earned two prestigious designations for its advanced stroke care. The Camden hospital, in strategic alliance with Penn Medicine, has been recognized with The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval and the American Stroke Association’s Heart-Check mark for Thrombectomy-Capable Stroke Center Certification.

Cooper University Health Care recently had a number of notable accomplishments: A team of interventional cardiologists with both Cooper and Inspira Cardiac Care became the first in the region—and among few in the country—to use the FDA-approved FARAPULSE PFA System by Boston Scientific to treat atrial fibrillation (AFib), or an irregular or rapid heart rhythm, while it also has been recertified as a Comprehensive Stroke Center, receiving The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval and the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association’s Heart-Check mark.

In the first designation of its kind, health care watchdog The Leapfrog Group and the American Diabetes Association have collaboratively named AtlantiCare a Recognized Leader in Caring for People Living with Diabetes. The local hospital system is one of 17 hospitals to receive this distinction nationwide.
