When husband and wife Bob and Chris Schiavo drove the first Albert’s Transportation vehicle home 39 years ago, Bob was still entrenched in the restaurant industry. That early hustle often meant chauffeuring guests to an event and then “jumping behind the bar to work the same party,” establishing an early expectation of working hard to deliver above-and-beyond personalized service.
After all, it’s the human connection they’ve always loved most about their 24/7 industry.
“We just enjoy the people,” says Bob, Albert’s general manager. He along with company owner “Chrissy” have run the business bearing four family members’ shared name since 1985, while Office Manager Maria Damico stepped up after being with the company since ‘89. “Our customers are fantastic—they’re the reason why we’re still doing this after 39 years.”
Far from just chauffeuring wedding celebrants and those traveling to and from special occasions, luxury ground transportation’s bread and butter is corporate work. And Albert’s has a fleet specifically chosen to cater to the business crowd’s needs, ranging from black-car sedans and SUVs to limousines and luxery vans to shuttle buses and luxury coaches that can fit up to 28 passengers for things like office holiday parties or professional retreats—plus its flagship 1954 Rolls Royce.
And whether that is running airport transfers or serving as well-appointed mobile offices for business folks on the go, Bob and Chris keenly understand how important it is to provide reliable, white-glove service to every passenger.
“We build relationships: Even today, we see who’s in the car, and if it’s someone we haven’t seen in a while, we’ll just call to say hello and see how they’re doing because they appreciate that,” Bob affirms. “We’re a larger company with small company values. We never want to get so big that our customers become a number.”
