When AtlantiCare held its annual trauma symposium at Harrah’s Resort & Casino in Atlantic City on June 1, the event coincided with two milestone occasions: the 25th year of hosting the yearly educational event attended by health care professionals from around the world, and the 31st anniversary of when the AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center Atlantic City campus’s opening made it the region’s only state-designated Level II Trauma Center.
Virtua Health has started using AI technology to assist doctors in detecting the presence of difficult-to-see polyps and precancerous lesions during colonoscopies. As the GI Genius intelligent endoscopy module is now in use at all five Virtua hospitals in Burlington and Camden counties, the health care system is the first in both the Greater Philadelphia region and New Jersey to implement AI assistance in all of its hospitals.
Atlantic Medical Imaging (AMI), Inspira Health and Regional Diagnostic Imaging (RDI) recently announced a joint-venture agreement that became effective June 12. The terms of the agreement involve the three entities partnering at nine existing South Jersey outpatient imaging centers—three AMI locations and six Inspira locations in Sicklerville, Tomlin Station (Mullica Hill), Glassboro, Women’s Imaging Center Vineland, Delsea (Vineland) and Woolwich Township—all of which will be branded as AMI at Inspira Health.
The Cooper Foundation recently received a $50,000 check from the Ferraro family of Langhorne, Pennsylvania. The donation honors the last wishes of their wife, mother and sister Barbara, who lost her six-year battle with cancer this past February, and will support ovarian cancer research at MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper.
