Lourdes Health System’s President and CEO Alexander J. Hatala has retired after 31 years of service. Trinity Health and the Lourdes Board of Directors have appointed Reginald Blaber, M.D.,M.B.A., as Hatala’s replacement, effective immediately.
The New Jersey Hospital Association receivedhonorable mention in the2017 Dick DavidsonQuality Milestone Awards.The honor, given to state,regional or metropolitanhospital associations,recognizes institutionsthat exhibit outstanding leadership and innovationwithin the health care field. All recipientswere recognized on July 27 at the 2017American Hospital Association LeadershipSummit in San Diego.
STV, a leading provider in architectural construction and design, received Construction Management Association of America’s Mid- Atlantic Chapter honors for the renovation of Rowan University’s downtown Camden campus. The Rowan Camden Academic Building is designed to encompass the university’s entire campus.
The Pat Tillman Foundation recognized Edgewater Park resident Laura Tolver as a Tillman Scholar. The honor is bestowed upon active-duty service members, veterans or military spouses who are pursuing college degrees at accredited institutions. Tolver, a student in the doctor of nursing practice program at Rutgers University–Camden, is one of only five nursing students and 61 total students to earn this highly competitive scholarship.
Samaritan Healthcare & Hospice welcomed aboard Sharon Colgate, MSN,RN, APN, as a nurse practitioner for the Marlton-based nonprofit organization. Colgate will consult patients on palliative care, pain and symptom management as well as follow-up care.
JDRF’s South Jersey Chapter named Gloucester Township’s Mayor David Mayer the corporate chair for JDRF’s 2017 One Walk. The event, which brings together hundreds of thousands of supporters each year, raises money to help fund research for Type 1 diabetes. The walk will take place on Sunday, Oct. 22 at Camden County College’s Blackwood Campus.
Flaster Greenberg PC managing shareholder Alan H. Zuckerman was selected to serve a oneyear term on the Board of Directors for the Greater Atlantic City Chamber of Commerce. In addition, Zuckerman will act as an active member of the Chamber’s Business Advocacy Committee.
Liberty Bell Bank promoted Kimberly Sank to vice president operations administrator. The company also elevated Jill Spangler to assistant vice president/Moorestown office manager, Joyce Stewart to assistant vice president/Marlton office manager and Kristy Barcia to assistant cashier/operations specialist.
Investors Bank appointed Paul E. Dilks to the position of reverse mortgage consultant. In his new role, Dilks will work to serve the communities of Burlington, Camden and Gloucester counties. He holds more than 11 years of experience providing reverse mortgages.
Charny, Karpousis, Altieri & Donoian Associate Rebecca Berger has been appointed to the Center for Family Services Board of Trustees and to the Advisory Board of The Salvation Army Kroc Center. Berger, who has been practicing law for nearly a decade, will work to empower individuals and families within those communities.
Virtua has been awarded the Healthgrades 2017 Patient Safety Excellence Award for its outstanding record of patient safety. The distinction recognizes institutions that excel in the prevention of serious or potentially avoidable complications during hospital stays.
