Manuela Morais of the Law Offices of Manuela Morais, LLC, was appointed to the Girl Scouts of Central & Southern New Jersey board of directors.

The First National Bank of Elmer announced the promotion of Joann Calvarese to assistant vice president and Hyacinth Mason to assistant vice president, community banking retail operations.
 
American Water has named Deborah Degillio senior vice president of its Eastern division and president of New Jersey American Water.
 
South Jersey Federal Credit Union recently appointed Ernest D. Huggard as chief executive officer. From July 2017, Huggard served as executive vice president and chief financial officer, and previously served as senior vice president and chief financial officer since May 2015.
 
OceanFirst Bank has announced Jeana Piscatelli is the new senior vice president and director of cash management. In this new role, Piscatelli will implement overall strategy and manage the day-to-day functions for corporate cash management initiatives.
 
New Jersey Capital announced Marie Mascherin has been named chief operating officer and Jeffrey Crum chief investment officer, while Leah Apgar steps into the role of managing director, lending and Mark Munley becomes director, special projects and local government relations.
 
Jose Lozano is the new president and CEO of Choose New Jersey as of June 1.
 
On Location, a nationwide provider of labor and management services for exhibits, events and environments, has hired Jennifer Anderton as an account executive.
 
Capital Bank announced the promotion of Brad Cusick to senior vice president. Cusick was previously Capital Bank’s Camden and Burlington County market manager. The bank also announced that it has hired Michael Feeley as vice president/commercial loan officer. Feeley will work with Cusick in Capital Bank’s Marlton loan production office. Additionally, Kathie Renner was named director.
 
Deborah E. Slaunwhite, AIA, NCARB, of Asher Associates, has been promoted to partner, joining founder Mark Asher, AIA, NCARB, in firm leadership. In recognition, the firm has changed its name to Asher Slaunwhite Architects.
 
John W. Poole, M.D., was recently installed as the 226th president of the Medical Society of New Jersey.
M&T Bank recently appointed Denise Monahan as administrative vice president, group manager, commercial banking for the South Jersey and Philadelphia region.
 
Dewberry recently announced the promotion of Lisa Peterson, PE, PLS, CME, to associate.
 
Duly Noted
Rowan College at Burlington County journalism student Lauren Purnell received the college’s Civility Award in recognition of her effort to tear down negative connotations for the term homeless by telling the stories of people she meets on the streets of Philadelphia. The Civility Award honors a graduating student who has promoted tolerance in their community and made positive contributions in a diverse population.
 
Bowman & Company recognized Kalee Emery as the recipient of the Lisa A. Donahue Scholarship, which is given in honor of Donahue who lost her battle with cancer 10 years ago and in recognition of her dedicated service to the CPA profession.
