James Newson (pictured) was named Wells Fargo’s new community bank area president for the South Jersey market. He will lead a team of 600 bankers covering 50 banking stores in four counties. Previously, Newson was Wells Fargo Customer Connection’s senior vice president and group regional executive based in Columbia, S.C.
Parker McCay in Mount Laurel announced Robert W. Cusick, Esq. joined the firm’s growing practice areas of Bankruptcy and Creditors Rights’ and Mortgage Foreclosure. Cusick joins the firm with significant experience in foreclosure, bankruptcy, real estate transactional work and title insurance litigation.
Bancroft, a nonprofit provider of services for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, named Michelle Gollapalli the organization’s new chief development officer. Gollapalli brings more than 15 years of fundraising experience. Prior to joining Bancroft, she worked as vice president of development of Presby’s Inspired Life and before that, oversaw the regional major gifts effort for the national Alzheimer’s Association.
Sun National Bank named Imran Riaz as chief credit officer and senior vice president. Riaz will lead Sun’s credit team and oversee the asset quality of the company’s loan portfolio, which includes underwriting, credit, special assets, loan administration and loan policies. Prior to joining Sun, Riaz was managing senior credit officer at TD Bank.
United Way of Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey (UWGPSNJ) in Camden County named Allison Coker as development associate. In this role, Coker will support UWGPSNJ in Camden County’s annual fundraising campaign.
Weisman Children’s Rehabilitation Hospital, providing specialty care to children in South Jersey, named Shawna G. Kates as the new administrator of Vineland Weisman Medical Day Care—a day care program serving special needs children from birth through age 5. Having served the health care industry for 30 years, Kates brings deep knowledge of operations, strategic planning, case management and social work.

Young’s Landscape Management, a South Jersey-based, full service landscaping company, participated in PLANET’s Legislative Day on the Hill and its Renewal & Remembrance at Arlington National Cemetery. In July, hundreds of PLANET members converged to meet with their local officials and discuss issues impacting the landscaping industry. This followed a day of donated landscaping service at Arlington.
Sun National Bank opened a new retail location in Glassboro, the first bank to open a branch in downtown Glassboro in 18 years. The new Sun branch is located on the first floor of The Whitney Center on Rowan Boulevard.
The Law Offices of Charny, Charny & Karpousis, P.A., a divorce and family law practice based in Mount Laurel, announced that Michelle F. Altieri, Esq. was named partner with the firm. For more than 10 years, Altieri has represented clients in diverse matters, including divorce, child custody, spousal and child support, property settlement agreements, prenuptial agreements, domestic violence, and adoption.
Hill International, a Marlton-based leader in managing construction risk, announced that the modernization of New York City Hall received an Award of Merit from Engineering News-Record (ENR). The award will be presented to Hill on Nov. 6 at ENR's Best 2013 Projects Awards Gala in New York City. The project received the award in the category of Renovation/Restoration and competed against projects throughout New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. Hill was the construction manager for the project.
Douglas Stanger, shareholder at Flaster/Greenberg PC in Cherry Hill, along with his wife, Gail Stanger, will be honored at the Anti-Defamation League’s (ADL) South Jersey Centennial Celebration on Oct. 29 for their tireless efforts through their positions on the ADL board and in the community. The Stangers have been actively involved in the ADL for 25 years, working to ensure there is justice and fair treatment to all citizens alike.
